Born on August 24, 1989, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Shoji has volleyball in his blood, being the son of legendary volleyball coach Dave Shoji. His journey to the top echelons of the sport began at Stanford University, where he was a four-time AVCA First Team All-American and led his team to an NCAA Championship in 2010. After college, Shoji transitioned seamlessly to the international stage, becoming a cornerstone of the U.S. Men's National Team. Known for his exceptional reading of the game and lightning-fast reflexes, he has been instrumental in Team USA's successes over the past decade.
