About United Volleyball Network

UVN was built by Bear Wade, a rabid volleyball fan whose obsession started at an AVP event in the early '90s. Standing on that beach, watching the best in the world throw down in the California sun, something clicked. This sport was electric. And almost nobody was covering it.

Bear grew up recording Olympic volleyball coverage on VHS tape, setting alarms for 2 a.m. because that was the only time the networks would air it. Imagine being a volleyball fanatic in a country where the only match you could find on television was the men's NCAA championship on ESPN, once a year, tucked between bass fishing and billiards reruns. Women's volleyball? Beach? Forget it. If you wanted to follow this sport, you were on your own.

That frustrated Bear for decades. Because volleyball in America isn't some niche curiosity, it's a massive, passionate community that has been wildly underserved by mainstream sports media. The talent is world-class. The storylines are incredible. The fan base is loyal, loud, and growing faster than the coverage can keep up.

So Bear built the place he always wished existed.
