The USA women's volleyball team just sent a message loud and clear. They mean business.

Taking Over Pool D

In Nakhon Ratchasima, the Americans wrapped up pool play at the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship by dismantling Czechia 3-0 (26-24, 25-20, 25-15). This wasn't just a win. This was a statement.

Avery Skinner led the charge, racking up 15 points with 13 kills, a block, and an ace. Sarah Franklin chipped in with 12 kills, while Chiaka Ogbogu added 10 points, including two blocks. The offense? Straight up dominant.

Momentum Shift

The first set was a nail-biter. Czechia came out hot, but the USA weathered the storm. And just like that, they flipped the match. From a tight 26-24 first set win, they never looked back. "We just stuck to our game plan," Skinner said. "Every match is important and every opponent will give their best against us."

Eye on the Prize

With nine points in the standings, the USA tops Pool D and heads to Bangkok for the elimination rounds. Next up? Teams from Pool E, including heavyweights Türkiye and Canada. This is where it changed: Slovenia also advanced, benefiting from the USA's win.

Czechia's captain Michaela Mlejnková admitted, "We didn’t serve well and they were in system the entire time." That's the brutal reality.

The Road Ahead

For the USA, the path is clear. They're on a roll, and if they keep playing like this, they're going to be a problem for anyone in their way.

That'll do it.
