Jaime Weston just changed the game.
Major League Volleyball has tapped Weston as its first-ever commissioner, and if you know her resume, you know that's big time. MLV, now in its third year and already a force in U.S. women's pro volleyball, has plans to expand from eight to ten teams by 2027.
WESTON'S IMPACT
We're talking about a woman who was the Chief Commercial Officer of USA Volleyball, steering the brand towards the 2028 LA Olympics. Before that? She was making waves as the SVP of Marketing for the NFL. Yeah, she’s got credentials.
"This is volleyball's time," Weston said. "In the U.S., the sport is female-led and female-defined, and professional women's volleyball is not following a blueprint. It's designing one."
MLV'S FUTURE
Jen Spicher will transition from her role as president to Executive VP of Volleyball Operations. This isn't a shuffle, it's a strategic move. Spicher's been there since day one, and now she's ready to double down on growing the game.
Weston’s appointment isn’t just a shift in leadership. It's a signal. A big one. MLV is ready to lead, not follow. They've got the infrastructure, the vision, and now, the leadership to set the standard for pro volleyball's future.
And from here... it’s only up. MLV is poised to not just play the game, but to run the show.
