When you think of Hermosa Beach, you think of sun, sand, and serious volleyball. Megan Rice fits right in. Born and raised in the heart of beach volleyball, Rice has taken her game from the indoor courts of Loyola Marymount University to the sandy arenas of the AVP. And just like that, she's making waves.

FROM INDOORS TO THE BEACH

Rice's journey wasn't your typical volleyball transition. She didn't even play beach volleyball in high school. But in her junior year at LMU, she got the call to join the beach team. A decision that changed everything. By her final season, she was an AVCA All-American and snagged the WCC Pair of the Year. Straight up dominant.

THE BREAKOUT MOMENT

In 2019, during the AVP Hermosa Beach, Rice made her statement. From qualifier to finals, she handled business on her home turf. Fast forward to 2023, Rice and partner Savvy Simo hit the finals again at AVP Hermosa. Playing in front of family and friends? That's big time.

BALANCING ACT

Off the court, Rice is all about brains and brawn. With a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Florida, she’s not just a powerhouse in volleyball but also at Sensormatic where she works full-time. Engineering by day, beach volleyball queen by weekend.

Rice's story is one of hard work meeting opportunity. She's not just a player; she's a force. Keep an eye on her. She's a problem.

That'll do it.
