UTRGV Volleyball is stepping onto the court with a mission. Development and discipline are the name of the game for the 2025 season.
Bryant's Leadership
Julianna Bryant is ready to take the lead. The senior middle blocker is bringing her A-game, and you could feel it coming. Last season, she was a force with 275 kills and a .320 hitting percentage. This year, she's not just playing — she's teaching. "It's about building a culture of hard work," Bryant said.
Fresh Faces Ready to Shine
Watch out for Nadine Zech and Celianiz Cabranes. These newcomers are hungry. Zech's defense is a problem for opponents, while Cabranes is known for her killer instincts at the net. Isabella Costantini and Dimitra Nanou are also in the mix, adding depth to an already stacked roster.
Discipline and Development
Head Coach Todd Lowery isn't playing around. "We emphasize discipline every day," he stated. The Vaqueros are focusing on fundamentals, and it shows. Last year, they had 20 wins. This season? They're aiming higher.
The Path Forward
Sujeili Mermella and Shylah Totten are expected to step up. Mermella's quick on her feet, while Totten's serves are straight up dominant.
And just like that, UTRGV is ready to make some noise in the NCAA. Expect a team that's more polished, more disciplined, and more dangerous.
That'll do it.
