The U.S. Women's National Team gave fans a rollercoaster week at the 2025 Volleyball Nations League in Arlington, Texas.
USA Dominates Early but Falls to China
July 13: It was fireworks on court as the USA faced off against China. After a commanding start, winning the first two sets 25-18 and 25-19, the Americans seemed unstoppable. And then everything changed. China flipped the script, taking the next three sets (25-21, 25-21, 18-16). The Chinese side showed resilience that couldn't be matched, leaving the USA searching for answers.
A Nail-Biter Against Canada
July 12: It wasn't all heartbreak for the USA. Just a day before the China clash, they secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Canada. The Americans fended off five match points to seal the deal in the fifth set, 19-17. Jordan Thompson was electric, leading the charge with her clutch performances.
Handling Business Against the Dominican Republic
July 10: The USA took down the Dominican Republic, 3-1 (23-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-20). It was a solid team effort, with Kelsey Robinson and Jordyn Poulter orchestrating plays like maestros. The victory marked their second straight win of the week.
Opening Win Sets the Tone
July 9: The USA kicked off their campaign with a hard-fought 3-1 win over Thailand (28-26, 21-25, 27-25, 25-15). It wasn't easy, but the Americans handled business to set the tone for what would be a dramatic week.
Let's be real… This week was a test of grit for the U.S. team. With the VNL finals on the horizon, expect them to regroup and come back even stronger.
