Texas Is Unstoppable Right Now
Texas Volleyball is the team everyone wishes they were. And if you thought their early season dominance was a fluke, think again. The Longhorns just swatted away No. 9 TCU in a straight-set sweep (25-12, 25-17, 25-18), making it their fourth consecutive victory over a top-10 team. Yeah, they're that good.
Context: The Longhorns' Dominance
The Longhorns are sitting pretty at 7-0, and they've made it look ridiculously easy, winning six of those games against ranked opponents. Junior sensation Torrey Stafford was a force, as always, with her fifth double-double of the season, notching 15 kills and 13 digs. She practically owned the service line with three aces, contributing half of Texas's total. The team hit a scorching .415 and held TCU to a measly .163. For TCU, it was like trying to stop a freight train with a paper shield.
Set one started with a bang for Texas, as they ran up a 6-0 lead. Junior defensive specialist Ramsey Gary was serving like it was personal. Texas's defense was impenetrable, holding TCU to just five kills with a zero hitting percentage. The Horned Frogs haven't seen a set this brutal since last season.
