The Dallas PULSE just made a statement. And Sofia Maldonado Diaz was the one who shouted it loud and clear.
DIAZ DOMINATES
30 kills. A .312 hitting percentage. Diaz wasn't just good; she was unstoppable. The PULSE needed every bit of her firepower to take down the Omaha Supernovas in a five-set battle (25-16, 17-25, 25-21, 19-25, 15-11) at the CHI Health Center.
But it wasn't just Diaz lighting it up. Mimi Colyer added 17 kills and nine digs, while Kaylee Cox stepped in at opposite with a solid nine kills. And let's not forget Natalia Valentin-Anderson. Eight double-doubles this season? She’s the real deal, dishing out 49 assists and picking up 16 digs.
OMAHA'S RESPONSE
The Supernovas didn't roll over. Brooke Nuneviller put down 14 kills, and Emily Londot chipped in 13. Toyosi Onabanjo added 10 more. In the second set, Omaha hit a scorching .481, leaving Dallas scrambling.
AND THEN EVERYTHING CHANGED
Dallas put the pedal down in the third. The Valentin-Anderson to Diaz connection was electric. As Valentin-Anderson put it, “When she’s playing like that, it’s hard not to go to her.” Diaz notched 10 kills in that set alone, hitting .421.
