The 2025 NCAA DI women's volleyball tournament is ready to rock. 64 teams. One champion. And this year? Just like last, everyone's gunning for Penn State.
DEFENDING THE CROWN
Penn State, under the fierce leadership of Head Coach Katie Schumacher-Cawley, claimed the 2024 title by taking down Louisville in a 3-1 showdown. Schumacher-Cawley made history as the first female DI women's volleyball head coach to win it all. Now, they're back and hungry for more.
But let's be real: staying on top is never easy. The selection show on Sunday, Nov. 30 will reveal who stands in their way. 31 automatic qualifiers and 33 at-large selections will fill the bracket. First round kicks off on Thursday, Dec. 4.
ROAD TO KANSAS CITY
Mark your calendars. The semifinals and championship will light up the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Semis hit on Dec. 18. The final showdown? Dec. 21. This is where legends are made.
WHO CAN CHALLENGE?
Last year's runner-up, Louisville, will be itching for revenge. And don’t sleep on the likes of Stanford and Wisconsin. Both teams have the firepower and the history to turn the bracket upside-down.
One rotation, one dig, one spike. That's all it takes to flip a match. You could feel it coming last year, and this time? Expect nothing less.
Penn State aims for a repeat, but the competition is fierce. This tournament? It's gonna be one for the books. That'll do it.
