The Orlando Valkyries? Straight up dominant. Pornpun Guedpard took over as the team clinched the Pro Volleyball Federation title, defeating the Indy Ignite in four sets (25-21, 25-19, 19-25, 25-15). This wasn't just a win. This was a statement.
FROM STRUGGLE TO GLORY
Last year, the Valkyries were a different story. An 8-16 record had them nowhere near the title conversation. Fast forward to now, they flipped the script with an 18-10 regular season run. You could feel it coming.
The Valkyries' blocking game was on another level, setting a season-high with 15 blocks. Lindsey Vander Weide matched a career-high with five of those, setting the tone for the rest of the squad.
MVP PERFORMANCE
While the blocks built the wall, Brittany Abercrombie was the wrecking ball. She hammered down 27 kills with a .387 efficiency. But the real spotlight? Pornpun Guedpard. With 37 assists, she ran the show and was named PVF Championship MVP. No answer for that kind of play.
Coach Amy Pauly couldn't hide her pride. “This group has been so special to coach this season," she said. "I’m so proud of how hard they fought.”
BUILDING A LEGACY
Middle blocker Kaz Brown reflected on the journey. “We all gelled well super-fast together," she said. "Everything took off from there.” From underdogs to top dogs, the Valkyries are setting the standard in the PVF.
And just like that, they've cemented their legacy. With this momentum, the Valkyries aren't just champions. They're a problem for the league. Watch out, MLV. Orlando's here to stay.
