And just like that, the Omaha Supernovas' season came crashing down in a five-set thriller against the Indy Ignite. This wasn't just any match. It was a battle for the ages at Lee’s Family Forum, and Brooke Nuneviller wasn't going down without a fight.
A Star Performance
Nuneviller, the 2025 PVF Outside Hitter of the Year, put up a jaw-dropping performance. Tying her season high with 22 kills and adding 11 digs, she was the heart of Omaha's offense. But even her heroics couldn't fend off the Ignite.
Reagan Cooper joined the fray with a .342 hitting percentage, hammering down 18 kills and snagging 10 digs. Mac Podraza set a new franchise record with 62 assists, but in the end, it wasn't enough.
Indy’s Explosive Answer
The Ignite had their own ace up their sleeve. Nina Cajic was an absolute problem, dropping 21 kills at a .347 clip. When the fifth set hung in the balance, she delivered seven clutch kills to seal the deal. Lydia Martyn was no joke either, hitting .609 with 14 kills.
This match? Chaos. The good kind.
Supernovas' Legacy
Despite the loss, the Supernovas set the standard for the league. With a league-best 21-8 record and leading the U.S. Pro Volleyball movement by averaging over 10,000 fans per home match, they’ve redefined what it means to be dominant. Nuneviller and Natalia Valentín-Anderson earned All-League honors, proving their worth.
The Curtain Falls
In the end, Omaha fell just short, losing 17-25, 25-23, 25-23, 20-25, 13-15. But don't let the loss overshadow their firepower. This team? Still a force.
And from there... it was over. But with this squad, you know they'll be back, stronger than ever. Watch out, PVF. They're not done yet.
