The Kean University Men's Volleyball team just got pegged sixth in the Continental Volleyball Conference Preseason Poll. Yeah, sixth. With 20 points. But don't let that fool you.
The Underdog Status
Sure, Southern Virginia topped the poll with 46 points and five first-place votes. They're the two-time CVC champs. Haven't lost to a conference rival in 19 matches. Impressive, right? But let's not sleep on Kean.
Veteran Squad, Ready to Strike
Kean went 13-12 last season. Not bad, but it's 2026 and they're bringing back the whole gang. Every starter. Chris Mitchell and Tyler Quinn, both All-Conference players, are leading the charge. Quinn’s been racking up awards faster than some teams rack up wins.
A League of Their Own
Southern Virginia and Juniata (43 points, two first-place votes) are the current favorites. But Kean has something they don’t: a chip on their shoulder. This veteran team has been through the wringer and knows what it takes to win.
Their sixth-place ranking? It's just a number. Numbers don’t tell you about grit and hunger. And just like that... the underdogs become the top dogs.
The Coming Season
The CVC better be ready. Kean's not just here to play; they're here to flip the script. Expect them to make some noise. And from there... it could be over.
That'll do it. Watch out for Kean. This isn’t just a prediction. It's a warning.
