Houston Dominates Lone Star Regionals

Houston's about to get rowdy. The Lone Star Regional Championships are taking over, and this isn't your average weekend tourney. We're talking NCAA intensity, pure and simple.

THE STAGE IS SET

On May 9 & 10, the George R. Brown Convention Center will host the 12s to 14s, with the 15s to 17s hitting the courts a week later at the GRB, courtesy of Austin Sports. It's a schedule packed tighter than a quick set.

Registration is open, but don't sleep on it. August 1, 2025, is your date to circle. You miss it, and you're out. Straight up.

BATTLE FOR BIDS

This isn't just about showing up. It's about showing out. Each age group has BID and Non-BID divisions, meaning every serve, every spike, every dig matters. Teams that secure a bid before regionals? Full refund. Everyone else? Better luck next time.

And here's the kicker—no on-site check-ins. It's all online, all the time. You mess up your roster? Email lonestarregionals@gmail.com to reset and get back in line.

THE COACHES' PLAYBOOK

Coaches, heads up. You’ll get your electronic tickets through Sport Wrench Ticket Guru. Don’t forget your ID, or you’re not getting in. Club directors also need to list contact info on the roster. No details, no entry. Simple as that.

Housing? Double occupancy for officials traveling over 50 miles. Work both days, and it’s yours. Keep it tight, keep it right.

GAME DAY GRIT

Doors swing open at 6:40 AM. Be ready. Trainers are set up at each tournament desk, and results will be posted on Advanced Event Systems by Wednesday. Errors? Report them fast. Don’t wait for Friday afternoon updates to fix mistakes.

Oh, and a quick heads-up: tie-breakers go to a single set to 15. Don’t leave until your pool is finished and results are posted. When in doubt, stay put.
