When it comes to Texas volleyball, Jason Culpepper and Aaniyah Kitchen are the names you need to know.

Culpepper's Dynasty

Jason Culpepper is no stranger to the spotlight. The Bushland Lady Falcons head coach just snagged his fourth Press Pass Sports Volleyball Coach of the Year award in six seasons. And it's no fluke. With a record of 242-19 in seven years, this guy knows how to build a volleyball powerhouse.

The Lady Falcons, boasting a 40-9 overall record, made it to their sixth straight UIL state championship game. Sure, they fell short against Goliad, but let's be real — that's six championship appearances in a row. Culpepper's not just coaching; he's crafting a dynasty. "It was a rewarding season," Culpepper said, reflecting on the growth of his young squad.

And then there's that district win streak. It started back in October 2011. Now? Sitting at 105 straight victories. "Realignment might bring new opponents, but we're ready," Culpepper confidently stated.

Kitchen's Rise

Enter Aaniyah Kitchen, the 2025 Press Pass Sports Player of the Year. As a freshman, she was called up to varsity and never looked back. Kitchen helped the West Plains Lady Wolves to 103 wins and eight playoff victories over three years. That’s not just talent; that’s leadership.

"It’s easy to lead a team with shared goals," Kitchen said. This 6-foot senior, who’s set to play at McNeese State, embodies the spirit of a champion. Coach Kaitlyn Cornelius praised her saying, "Aaniyah has grown into such a fierce competitor."

The legacy Kitchen leaves at West Plains is just beginning. As she steps into Division I volleyball, you could feel it coming — she's going to make waves.

Looking Ahead

With Culpepper's dynasty continuing and Kitchen's next chapter about to unfold, Texas volleyball is in good hands. Expect more fireworks, more victories, and more names to know.

And from there... it was over.
