A Rising Star with a Dual Passion
Collin Tullis isn't your typical high school athlete. At just 14, this libero from Slidell, Louisiana, is already causing a stir in the volleyball world. Why? Because this kid is a double threat, having just wrapped up an impressive run in state tennis semifinals before setting his sights on USA Volleyball. That's right, he's taking his talents from the court to the court, and he's not looking back.
From Tennis Courts to Volleyball Nets
Collin's journey began at the tender age of four when he first picked up a volleyball. Fast forward a decade, and he's already left his mark on the sport by helping his team clinch the 14’s open AAU National championship. His defensive prowess as a libero is a testament to his dedication and skill, earning him a spot at the USA BNTDP's 2026 U18 National Team Selection Camp. It's a big deal, folks. This isn't just about playing volleyball; this is about redefining what it means to be a young athlete.
Triumph and Tragedy: The Tullis Family Story
The Tullis family has seen both the highs of athletic success and the lows of personal tragedy. Collin's father, a former coach at Pope John Paul II, recently faced an unimaginable loss when his other son, Christian, died in a car accident following a state volleyball tournament. This heartbreaking event has only fueled Collin's resolve to honor his brother's memory through his own athletic pursuits.
