Two former Gauchos just owned the sand in Florida. Theo Brunner and Ryan Wilcox teamed up for the first time in AVP competition and took home the trophy at the 2025 Palm Beach Open.

GAUCHO DUO DOMINATES

This wasn't just any win. It was a statement. The duo went undefeated, playing six matches in sweltering 90-degree heat. They started strong, winning both pool play matches to snag the No. 2 seed. 21-19, 21-19 was their magic number in the round of 16.

GRITTY QUARTERS AND A CLINICAL SEMI

The quarterfinals? Tight. They scraped through with a 21-19, 18-21, 15-13 victory. No problem, though. They handled business against Evan Cory and Caleb Kwekel in the semis with a smooth 21-17, 21-18 win.

THE FINAL SHOWDOWN

Facing off against Rowdy Lennon and Logan Mister in the finals, it was all about resilience. Trading the first two sets, Brunner and Wilcox flipped the match with a decisive third set. After a 9-8 lead, they ran the show with six straight points to close it 21-18, 18-21, 15-8. Straight up dominant.

A TICKET TO MANHATTAN BEACH

With this win, they've earned a wild card berth to the prestigious Manhattan Beach Open. Wilcox, the 2019 AVCA Newcomer of the Year, and Brunner, a 2007 AVCA First-Team All-American, are proving they've got what it takes.

You could feel it coming. And from here… they're just getting started.
