The UCLA Bruins just reminded everyone why they hold that No. 1 spot. A clean 3-0 sweep over Vanguard — nothing short of dominant.
Bruins Take Control Early
From the first whistle, you could feel it. UCLA was in charge. Ethan Champlin led with a barrage of kills, making sure Vanguard felt every hit. The Bruins took the first set 25-15. Vanguard? No answer.
The Block Party
Heading into the second set, Merrick McHenry put on a clinic. Blocks on blocks. He turned the net into a wall, and Vanguard struggled to find a crack. UCLA took the second set 25-18.
Champlin Seals the Deal
By the third set, Champlin had his eyes set on closing the match. With a fiery performance, he not only led the attack but also kept the energy high. The final set ended 25-17 in favor of the Bruins. Coach John Speraw praised the team, saying, "We executed our game plan perfectly."
And just like that, the Bruins move to 7-0. Vanguard drops to 2-4. Next up? UCLA faces another test. But if they keep playing like this, who's stopping them?
That'll do it.
