Beach volleyball is returning to its roots in Southern California for the 2028 LA Olympics. Taryn Brasher and Kristen Nuss? They're ready.
The Road to Redemption
They went into the 2024 Paris Olympics ranked No. 2 in the world, only to be knocked out in the round of 16 by the Canadian duo Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson. Brasher called it "the most devastating moment of her life." Four years of prep, gone in 40 minutes. Tough.
But did they let that define them? No chance. They did what they do best, bounce back. Just days after Paris, they won the Manhattan Beach Open, the most prestigious annual tournament in the U.S. Handled business like they were born to do it.
A Unique Partnership
Brasher and Nuss aren't your typical beach volleyball team. Living in separate units in Baton Rouge, not the Californian coast like most, they've held strong. Their mantra? "Rewrite the script." And they've been doing just that since their days at LSU. Nuss might be undersized at 5'6", but her heart? Massive. Brasher at 6'4" complements her perfectly.
