The AVP is bringing the beach indoors. 300 tons of sand just dropped into the Intuit Dome for a weekend showdown. This isn't your usual beach volleyball scene, but hey, it's AVP. They're here to shake things up.
Sand in the Dome
Logan Dan, AVP's operations wizard, made it happen. "It's about a six- to eight-hour build," Dan said. That's right, 16 dump trucks worth of sand from Palm Springs turned the Intuit Dome into a beach volleyball paradise.
And just like that, AVP is set to host its first-ever indoor matches in an NBA arena. Indoor beach volleyball? Not normal. But when has AVP ever been about the ordinary?
Who's Ready to Battle?
The L.A. Launch and the Palm Beach Passion top the standings. L.A. Launch is undefeated, while Palm Beach sits at 6–2. This matchup? It's straight up dominant.
Hagen Smith and Logan Webber are ready to keep the Launch flying high. On the other side, Trevor Crabb and Phil Dalhausser have no plans to let them cruise.
A New League Model
The AVP's new league format is a game-changer. Each city represented by a men's and women's duo. Combined records determine standings. It's all about city pride and team strength.
This week, it's San Diego Smash vs L.A. Launch, and Palm Beach vs L.A. Launch. Olympians, USC alums, and even a former NBA player in action. You could feel it coming. Intense, loud, close action. Just how we like it.
The Big Picture
Indoor or out, AVP is about expanding the game. Next stop? Central Park. Yes, you read that right. They're putting a court in Wollman Rink.
This weekend? The stakes are high, and the sand is set. AVP is rewriting the playbook. Get ready for the ride.
