It was about time. Wisconsin-Oshkosh finally did it. They claimed their first-ever DIII women's volleyball championship, and they did it in style. A clean sweep, 3-0 against La Verne. You could feel it coming.
Oshkosh Ran the Show
From the first whistle, it was clear. Wisconsin-Oshkosh wasn't here to mess around. They took the first set 25-18, setting the tone for the rest of the match. Coach Brian Schaefer knew his team was ready. "We've been building towards this all season," he said. And just like that, they never looked back.
La Verne Had No Answer
La Verne fought hard, no doubt. But they couldn't keep up with Oshkosh’s relentless pace. The second set? 25-20. Emily Miller was a force, racking up kills like it was too easy. La Verne's defense was scrambling, and they had no answer for Oshkosh’s attack.
Sealing the Deal
The third set was a formality. Oshkosh closed it out 25-15. Dominant is an understatement. Ashley Smith and her teammates put on a clinic. It was straight up dominant. For Oshkosh, this wasn't just a win. It was a statement. The DIII world better take notice.
The Future Looks Bright
This is just the beginning for Wisconsin-Oshkosh. With a roster this talented and a coach like Schaefer at the helm, they're not done yet. The way they handled business? You could feel it. This program is on the rise. And from here, the sky's the limit.
That'll do it.
