Sarah Wilhite Parsons didn't just play her first match with the Omaha Supernovas, she owned it.
In front of 9,538 fans, the largest weekday crowd in franchise history, Wilhite Parsons put on a clinic. 17 kills in just three sets. That's a franchise record for kills in a three-set match. She added three blocks, three digs, and an ace, showing why she was brought on as the team captain.
WILHITE PARSONS: UNSTOPPABLE
The San Diego Mojo? They had no answer. Wilhite Parsons was a force. Her 21 points set another franchise record. You could feel it coming. And just like that, she flipped the match.
But she wasn't alone in this debut spectacle. Merritt Beason also made her mark with seven kills, 10 digs, and three blocks. Oh, and an ace for good measure. The team's defensive strength was undeniable, with Brooke Nuneviller leading the charge with 16 digs, adding six kills and an ace.
THE TEAM MADE A STATEMENT
New head coach Luka Slabe couldn't have asked for a better start. A debut win that sets the tone for the season. "Handled business" is an understatement.
