The Texas Longhorns are ready to make waves at the SEC Volleyball Tournament, and this is where it gets interesting. Jerritt Elliott, the mastermind behind Texas volleyball, is steering his squad into uncharted waters. He's never coached in a conference tournament before. Now, he's about to find out what it's all about.
The Longhorns' Path
Texas (21-2) dropped a couple of SEC matches, falling to Kentucky and Texas A&M, which knocked them to third place in the standings. But don't let that fool you. The Longhorns are still sitting pretty at No. 2 in the NCAA’s RPI rankings. They've got eight wins over AVCA-ranked teams. Impressive? Absolutely.
Elliott's Take on the Grind
Elliott isn't thrilled about the brutal schedule. "To play three matches in three days is brutal," he admitted. A double bye does give them a breather though. Texas, as the No. 3 seed, won't hit the court until the quarterfinals. Their opponent? That's still up in the air. It could be Ole Miss, LSU, or Missouri. And for the record, Texas handled all of them during the regular season.
