Stanford's 2025 freshman class is no joke. They've got the skills, the size, and the hunger. The Cardinal reached the Elite Eight for a third straight year in 2024. Now, they're eyeing the Final Four. But it'll take more than just dreams. It's on the newcomers to make it happen.
Kaci Demaria: A Future Star
Kicking things off is Kaci Demaria. Standing tall at 6’3” from Palos Verdes High, she's got the height and the right hand to make noise at the net. Kevin Hambly, Stanford's head coach, calls her "a tremendous point scorer." She’s aggressive, with killer elevation, ready to add depth behind Elia Rubin, Ipar Kurt, and the others. She might not start the season in the spotlight, but watch out. You could feel it coming.
Reese Dunkle: Opportunity Knocks
Next, Reese Dunkle. Another 6’3" weapon, but this time in the middle. She's from Center Grove High and brings a dynamic presence to the net. With Sami Francis moving on, Dunkle's got a path to impact right away. Hambly says she fills a critical need, praising her work ethic and competitive spirit. The only bump? An injury. Keep an eye on her recovery. This is where it changed.
Spencer Etzler: The Heir Apparent
Spencer Etzler steps into the libero role, succeeding Elena Oglivie. At 5'8" from Coldwater High, she's small but fierce. Hambly sees her as the future, with "an innate ability to pass and play defense at an elite level." She’s got the instincts and the drive to elevate Stanford's defense. Straight up dominant.
Logan Parks: Versatility Wins
Then there's Logan Parks. A 5’11” setter/opposite from Blue Valley North High. She's versatile, ready to slide into wherever Stanford needs her. With Taylor Yu entering her sophomore year, Parks has time to find her groove. But make no mistake, she's got the skills to be a game-changer.
These freshmen aren't just here to watch. They're here to take over. And from there... it was over.
