Fields Runs the Show
Fields isn't just playing. She's dominating. With 18 kills, 12 digs, and two aces against LOVB Nebraska, she's making a statement. And let's not forget the supporting cast. Madi Bugg stepped up with 22 assists in relief of Jordyn Poulter.
This wasn't just another match. It was a clinic. A 25-23, 25-22, 18-25, 25-15 clinic. You could feel it coming.
Homecoming for BYU Alums
Returning to Provo's Smith Fieldhouse felt right for Salt Lake's stars. Roni Jones-Perry and Mary Lake brought their A-game. Jones-Perry added 10 kills and seven digs, while Lake held her own in serve receive.
Fields, originally from Houston, is making this season personal. Last year, Salt Lake finished fourth. Not this time. They're leading the pack at 7-1, clear of second-place LOVB Houston.
The Midseason Charge
Next up? The midseason LOVB Classic in Kansas City. It's a chance to prove they're legit. Fields summed it up best: "I'm really hungry and trying to put that fire to the team."
Now, Salt Lake's eyeing the next challenge. They're not just playing for wins. They're playing for respect. And with Fields leading, you'd better believe they're getting it.
