When Miles Partain and Andy Benesh hit the sand at the AVP Huntington Beach Open, there was only one thing on their minds: victory. And they got it.

The Dynamic Duo

Partain and Benesh weren't just playing—they were playing chess while everyone else was playing checkers. The way they controlled the net was, dare I say, straight up dominant. Benesh’s blocks were like a brick wall against opponents like Miles Evans and Chase Budinger.

And just like that, they flipped the match. Benesh was an absolute problem at the net, shutting down Budinger’s spikes like it was too easy.

The Final Showdown

The final showdown against Miles Evans and his partner was no joke. Set after set, Partain and Benesh showed why they’re the duo to beat on the AVP circuit. The crowd? Electric. You could feel it coming.

The Women's Bracket Drama

On the women's side, Kristen Nuss and Taryn Brasher handled business against Terese Cannon and Megan Kraft. They took the championship in three sets, but it wasn't a walk in the park. Cannon and Kraft’s chemistry was palpable, especially after taking out the second-seeded Canadian duo of Brandie Wilkerson and Melissa Humana-Paredes.

Kraft said it best: "Our goal this weekend was to have a lot of fun and be physical and aggressive, and I feel we kept that consistent all tournament through."

What’s Next?

Partain and Benesh are now the team to watch in the AVP tour. If they keep playing like this, the rest of the field better watch out. That'll do it.
