The Orlando Valkyries are back and they're not messing around.
Valkyries Reloaded
Coming off a championship high, Orlando is poised to make history. Last season, they flipped the script from an 8-16 record in 2024 to an 18-10 powerhouse in 2025. And then everything changed. They took down Indy Ignite in four sets (25–21, 25–19, 19–25, 25–15) to snag their first title.
Brittany Abercrombie, the league MVP, was unstoppable. Leading the league with 503 points and 462 kills, she's back to wreak havoc. Joining her is setter Pornpun Guedpard, fresh off a season where she hit 1,082 assists. That's no joke. Add a solid middle blocker like Kazmiere Brown (73 blocks) and you've got a squad that's ready to run the show again.
Omaha’s Redemption Story
The Omaha Supernovas have a bone to pick. They were the inaugural champions, remember? They dominated the 2024 championship, sweeping Grand Rapids Rise. Last year, they finished with a league-best 21-7 record, only to get knocked out by Indy Ignite in a five-set thriller. That sting still lingers.
With Sydney Hilley back in the fold, Omaha’s passing game is tight. Hilley led all setters last season with 11.30 assists per set. And then there's Brooke Nuneviller. Her stats? Top five in kills, kills per set, and total points.
Expansion on the Horizon
The MLV isn’t just about the now. It’s about building something big. With plans for new franchises in Washington D.C. and Northern California in 2027, the league is setting the stage for a volleyball revolution.
This season? It's anyone’s game. But if Orlando has anything to say, they'll be defending that title with everything they’ve got. Watch out, MLV. The Valkyries are coming.
