The Orlando Valkyries just got the kind of celebration every champion dreams of.
Championship Glory
At City Hall, the energy was electric. The Valkyries didn't just win; they took over the Major League Volleyball (MLV) scene. Their 2025 Pro Volleyball Federation Championship win? Game-changing.
Mayor Buddy Dyer handed them the key to the city and made it official with a proclamation. The crowd? Packed with fans, news crews, and sports leaders. “The @orlvalkyries have already made their mark,” Dyer posted on X. And he's not wrong.
A Million Reasons to Celebrate
With a cool $1 million prize from the league, the Valkyries have cemented their legacy in Orlando sports history. Coach Amy Pauly quipped about the key, saying, "I’m not sure what to do with a key to the city, but I’m going to find out."
A City That Believes
This isn’t just about volleyball. The Orlando Pride won the National Women's Soccer League title in 2024, making this the second major women's championship in six months. “The City of Orlando has really bought into women’s sports," said Valkyries middle blocker Kaz Brown.
Caleb Paull from Better Talent shared the excitement, “This is the second championship for an Orlando sports team to win, and we’re so excited about it.”
The Impact
For a team that’s new to Orlando, they've already inspired a generation. “Thank you to the fans, thank you to the companies that partner with us,” said Tim Meyer, Director of Ticket Sales.
And just like that, the Valkyries have taken Orlando by storm. Expect them to keep making waves.
That'll do it.
