TEXAS A&M SHOCKS THE SYSTEM
On October 14, Nebraska's 33-match winning streak crumbled at the hands of Texas A&M in a nail-biting five-setter. The Aggies didn't just beat the Huskers; they knocked them out of the NCAA tournament. This wasn't just a loss. It was a seismic shift in the college volleyball landscape.
With their 33 straight wins to start the season, Nebraska tied the second-most wins in program history since 1981. But the Aggies had other plans, flipping the match and sending the Huskers packing. Big Red's dream of joining the elite club of undefeated champions is now a distant memory.
HISTORY IN THE MAKING?
Since 1981, only a handful of programs have finished a season undefeated and clinched the national title: Penn State (2008, 2009), Southern California (2003), Nebraska (2000), and Long Beach State (1998). With Nebraska's fall, the hopes of a new undefeated champion rest elsewhere.
