The Nebraska Cornhuskers are on a roll. A big, unstoppable, runaway train kind of roll.
NEBRASKA OWNS THE COURT
Nebraska swept Michigan 25-18, 25-13, 25-18. That's nine sweeps in a row. If you're counting, that's 28 consecutive sets. Last time they did something like this? 2010. And let's be real, Michigan had no answer. Harper Murray came home to Ann Arbor and made sure her hometown felt it, leading with nine kills.
You could feel it coming. The moment Andi Jackson and Bergen Reilly teamed up for that block in the first set, the energy flipped. Nebraska set a new attendance record at the Crisler Center with 12,707 fans, but it was all about the Huskers' performance. Taylor Landfair added seven kills and three blocks, while Jackson's eight kills at a .800 clip were straight-up dominant.
THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE
Nebraska hit a scorching .390 and held Michigan to a paltry .079. The Big Red showed no mercy, handling business with a 40-32 advantage in kills and a commanding 13-6 edge in blocks. Reilly dished out 28 assists and added eight digs to the mix. Olivia Mauch and Laney Choboy chipped in with seven and six digs, respectively.
THE RUNS THAT SEALED IT
Set one? Murray's seven-point service run put Nebraska firmly in control. By the time Bekka Allick and Virginia Adriano sealed it with a block, it was all over. Set two was even more decisive, with Reilly serving the Huskers to a 15-7 lead. Nebraska hit .400 and left Michigan hitting in the negatives.
When Michigan tried to claw back in set three, Adriano and Jackson shut the door with solo blocks. That'll do it.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Huskers return to Lincoln to host Northwestern and Michigan State. With Nebraska's annual "Pink Match" on the horizon, expect the Big Red to keep this momentum going. They're not just winning; they're putting on a clinic.
Prediction? Northwestern better bring their A-game or risk becoming sweep number ten.
