Two teams. Zero losses. That's where we stand with Nebraska and Texas in college volleyball. Both are blazing through their schedules, leaving everyone else in their dust.
Nebraska's Path
The Nebraska Huskers are sitting pretty at 16-0. They've already taken down heavyweights like then-No. 3 Pitt, No. 6 Stanford, and No. 7 Kentucky. Seven ranked wins and counting. Rebekah Allick is ripping through defenses, and you can feel the momentum building.
But the Huskers' road isn't done yet. Wisconsin on October 31 looms large. Add Minnesota on November 8 and road trips to USC and UCLA. And don't sleep on Indiana or the rematch with Penn State. Let's be real, the Huskers are looking fierce, but this stretch will test them.
Texas on a Tear
Now, let's talk Texas Longhorns. They're 14-0, making it look easy against nine ranked opponents, including No. 6 Stanford and No. 4 Louisville. That's five top-10 wins. This is the first time since 2009 they've rolled like this.
Circle October 31 on your calendar. That's when Texas faces Logan Lednicky and Texas A&M. A rivalry with stakes. And don't forget Kentucky on November 2. Cari Spears and Torrey Stafford will have their hands full against Eva Hudson and Brooklyn DeLeye. This is where it could flip.
The Final Stretch
The SEC isn't giving Texas a free ride. Oklahoma, Ole Miss, and LSU are lurking. Remember, the Sooners upset them in five last year. But, if Texas handles business, we might just see two undefeated teams heading into the postseason.
And just like that, the race to perfection is on.
