The North Central Texas College Lady Lions have been busy. After a whirlwind week of conference and tournament play, they've shown they can hang with the best and come out fighting.

No Quit in This Squad

The Lady Lions kicked things off with their conference opener against Weatherford College. Facing the #2 nationally ranked team? Not easy. They fought hard, snagged a set, but dropped the match in four. But you could feel it—they were just heating up.

And then everything changed. Against SWCC in Terrell, they handled business. Alexis de Vries, the freshman setter, ran the show with 18 assists, 8 digs, 3 aces, and a kill. But it was Kassidy Paul who took over, smashing 7 kills and hitting .375. Isabel Gabbert? She was right there with 6 kills, hitting .400. Straight up dominant.

Tournament Time, Baby

Hosting their annual invitational, the Lady Lions were on a mission. They took down Western Texas College in straight sets. Easy. Denim Crow led the charge with 8 kills, 3 aces, and 11 digs. Kyla Williams and Jamey Darwin chipped in with killer performances too.

Next up, Wharton. A five-set thriller with a nail-biting 16-14 finish. Kate Walraven was no joke with 14 kills. Paul added 12 more. And Alison Figueroa? 20 digs, like it was nothing.

A Fighting Finish

Day 2 saw them drop a match to Dodge City Community College. But they came out swinging against Panola College. Took the first two sets, but it slipped away in five. Still, Paul and Gabbert kept swinging, each with 10 kills. Figueroa was a wall with another 20 digs.

Next up? Vernon College and then Temple College. Two conference clashes that could set the tone for the rest of the season.

This team is no joke. They're finding their rhythm. And from there… it was over.
