The California State University Long Beach men's volleyball team just made a statement. Again.
A Sweep in the Finals
The Beach didn't just win. They swept UCLA in the NCAA Men's Volleyball National Championship. 25-17, 25-23, and 25-21. And just like that, they're the 2025 champs.
It's been six years since their last title in 2019, but this squad was ready. They were ranked No. 1 for the final 14 weeks of the season. That's no joke.
Moni Nikolov: The Future
Remember this name: Moni Nikolov. At 6-foot-10, this freshman isn't just tall. He's a monster. Named the NCAA All-Tournament MVP and already holding the Big West Player of the Year title. Straight up dominant.
A Legacy of Excellence
Led by coach Alan Knipe, who knows a thing or two about winning—he was a player on their 1991 championship team—Long Beach State is a breeding ground for volleyball legends. Just ask Misty May-Treanor and TJ DeFalco.
Celebration Time
Long Beach is throwing a parade, and it's well-deserved. Starting at 11 a.m. on Pine Avenue, the community will celebrate this powerhouse. After that? An 11:30 a.m. reception at Altar Society Brewing Co. Be there.
And from here? This team isn't slowing down. Watch out for Long Beach State. The dynasty continues.
