Twenty-seven Athletes Unlimited powerhouses are about to shake up the LOVB scene. With AU stars splashed across all six franchises, the second season of League One Volleyball is set to be a spectacle.
Atlanta's Trio
Atlanta ruled the regular season with a 13-3 record, but the semis? A different story. They're banking on their AU trio: libero Piyanut Pannoy (1,957 points, third with 139 digs), middle blocker Onye Ofoegbu, and opposite hitter Tessa Grubbs to flip the script.
Houston's Heavy Hitters
Houston finished second with a 10-6. But their roster? Loaded. Led by 2025 AU champ Jordan Thompson, who shattered records and snagged Second Team honors. Add in libero Justine Wong-Orantes (106 digs), outside hitter Madi Kingdon Rishel (fifth on AU leaderboard), and setter Micha Hancock (9.80 assists per set) — this squad means business.
Madison's Dark Horses
Madison had an 8-8 run and stumbled in quarters. But with outside hitters Temi Thomas-Ailara (1,706 points) and Claire Chaussee joining forces with newcomer middle blocker Annayka Legros, they're looking to rise.
Salt Lake's Super Eleven
Salt Lake isn't messing around. Eleven AU stars, including outside hitter Dani Drews (2,493 points), middle blocker Sophie Fischer (24 blocks), and libero Manami Kojima (140 digs). Add Madi Bugg, Claire Hoffman, and Tori Dixon (0.70 blocks-per-set) to the mix? That's straight up dominant.
Nebraska's Redemption Arc
Nebraska had a rough 5-11 start, but their playoff run? Legendary. Led by middle blocker Emily Thater (fourth in blocks per set at 0.68), they shocked Madison and Houston to reach the finals. They're hungry for more.
LOVB Season Two is set for fireworks. You could feel it coming.
