Indy Ignite pulled off a dramatic five-set victory over the San Diego Mojo to clinch a spot in the 2026 Major League Volleyball postseason. It was a rollercoaster of a match, with set scores of 25-20, 19-25, 22-25, 25-19, and 15-9, showcasing the resilience and determination that have defined their season.
Azhani Tealer led the charge with 22 kills, just one shy of her season high, hitting at a remarkable 45.8% kill percentage. Her performance was the backbone of Indy's attack, and her leadership on the court was evident as Indy rallied from a two-set-to-one deficit.
The Turning Point
After dropping the second and third sets, Indy Ignite found themselves staring down the barrel of defeat. But this is a team that thrives under pressure. They regrouped and came out firing in the fourth set, taking it 25-19 to force a decisive fifth.
The fifth set saw Indy explode to a 6-0 start, a run that set the tone for the rest of the match. San Diego Mojo, despite their strong defensive efforts, couldn't recover from the early onslaught.
A Playoff Berth Secured
This victory not only marks Indy's first win at Viejas Arena in four attempts, but it also guarantees them a place in the league championship event scheduled for May 7 and 9 at Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. It's the second consecutive playoff appearance for the Ignite, a testament to their growing prowess in the league.
