Penn State Schuylkill went into the lion's den and came out with some battle scars. 79 digs. That's how many times Schuylkill dug deep against Penn State Hazleton.
Hazleton's Hot Start
Hazleton was unstoppable right out of the gate. A .435 hitting percentage in the first set? That's not just hot, that's molten. They took it 25–9, leaving Schuylkill scrambling.
Schuylkill's Set Two Surge
And just like that, Schuylkill struck back. They flipped the script in the second set. 13 kills and holding Hazleton to just a .152 hitting percentage. 27–25 win. Yeah, they showed some serious fight.
Kershner Holds the Line
Lyla Kershner was all over the court. 22 digs and 2 aces. Talk about anchoring the back row. But she wasn't alone. Amanda Burns added 10 kills, while Lainey Dusel chipped in with 7.
Hazleton Seals the Deal
Sets three and four? Hazleton found that balance again. Took the third 25–19, and the fourth 25–23. Schuylkill battled, but Hazleton just had more weapons.
The Setter's Double-Double
Ryliegh Sinko was setting the table like a pro. 24 assists and 18 digs. That's a double-double that'll make any coach smile.
This wasn't just a loss for Schuylkill (5–6, 1–3 PSUAC). It was a lesson. They'll need some of that set two magic when they face Penn State Lehigh Valley next.
And from there... it could be a different story.
