The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors didn't just win. They straight up dominated.
Starting Strong
Hawaii launched their season with a bang against NJIT, opening the match with a commanding 5-0 run. The crowd? Electric. It was like they never stopped celebrating New Year’s.
Trevell Jordan wasted no time, getting into rhythm early with a kill and a combo block alongside Tread Rosenthal. By the time they were up 9-3, you could feel it—NJIT had no answer.
Titriyski Takes Over
Kristian Titriyski was a force, leading the Warriors with 12 kills and two aces. Four of those kills came in the first set alone. That's big time. He set the tone, and NJIT never recovered.
Andre Aleixo tried to fight back for NJIT with 10 kills, but it wasn’t enough. The Highlanders managed to tie the third set three times, but Hawaii's resilience showed.
Warriors' Wall
The Warriors' defense was a fortress. Finn Kearney and Ofeck Hazan stepped up with crucial blocks, pushing Hawaii ahead 6-3 in the third set. Adrien Roure added eight kills to the mix, sealing the deal.
Hawaii swept NJIT 25-11, 25-16, 25-14, in front of a lively 5,685 fans at the Stan Sheriff Center. A crowd that hadn’t been this pumped since the Big West championship against Long Beach State.
And just like that, Hawaii is making noise early.
The Road Ahead
With five of their seven starters back, Hawaii is eyeing another deep run. This wasn't just a win. It was a statement. Keep an eye on these Warriors—they're not done yet.
