The 2025 high school boys volleyball season is set to bring the heat, and Grantsville's Madden Bell is the name ringing in everyone's ears.

Grantsville's Game Plan

Breanna Dzierzon steps in as Grantsville's new head coach, and she's got big shoes to fill. Last year, Grantsville rolled through with an 18-7 record, taking the top spot in Region 3A North. They didn't just win; they dominated, clinching the 3A championship with a clean 3-0 sweep over North Sanpete. Joe Bailey, Hunter Powell, and Isaac Nordgren are ready to repeat the magic, but with new faces stepping up, it's a fresh challenge.

"Last year, we built a team from the ground up and won the state title," says Dzierzon. "We're focused on developing a new core and growing as a team."

Rockwell's Redemption

Over at Rockwell, Kyle Komenda is entering his second year as head coach. They finished 2024 with a 13-9 record, clawing their way to second in Region 3A North. The team fell short in the 3A semifinals, losing 3-1 to North Sanpete. This season? Different story. Madden Bell, Jack Komenda, and Kevin Wangsgard are back, ready to rewrite last year's script.

"We are very excited to see what we can accomplish," Komenda states. "If we can stay unified, we have the potential to be a special team."

The Crowther Trio at OHS

Meanwhile, Tim Wright is steering Ogden High School into another season, hoping to capitalize on last year’s 14-12 finish. With the Crowther brothersCase, Keen, and Kos—leading the charge, the team has the talent to shake things up. They took a tough 3-0 loss to Grantsville in the semifinals, but Wright believes in the energy his veterans bring.

"We are excited to see how that energy carries into this new season with most of our players returning," Wright says.

What to Watch

The 3A scene is set. New coaches. Familiar faces. Unfinished business. Can Madden Bell and Grantsville handle the pressure of being the hunted? Or will the competition catch up?

You could feel it coming. This season is a powder keg waiting to explode. Buckle up.
