The Grand Rapids Rise just made waves. Morgan Hentz—two-time MLV Libero of the Year—is now part of their lineup.

Hentz Is Different

This isn't just another trade. It's the first in Rise's history, and they made it count. Hentz comes in from the Omaha Supernovas, and she's not just any libero. In 2024 and 2025, she was the best.

508 digs in 2025? That's a record. This season, she's already racked up 157 digs and 26 assists in 46 sets. Omaha felt that loss immediately.

The Oglivie Impact

To get Hentz, the Rise had to part with Elena Oglivie. Oglivie isn't a slouch. She leaves as Grand Rapids' all-time digs leader with 527. Her last season? 135 digs in 35 sets. She will be missed, no doubt, but acquiring Hentz changes everything.

Cathy George, Rise's head coach, said it best: “Morgan has had so many great experiences throughout her volleyball career. She's just an all-around good person.”

What's Next?

Hentz will make her debut at Van Andel Arena when the Rise host the Atlanta Vibe. You know she'll want to show her former team what they're missing.

This move isn't just about the present. It's about long-term dominance. Grand Rapids just sent a message to the league: They're here to win. And just like that... the Rise's stock just went up.
