Two names you better get used to hearing: Elise Goetzinger and Sophie Fischer. These two middle blockers just announced themselves loud and clear at the 2025 AU Pro Volleyball Championship.

Goetzinger's Instant Impact

Elise Goetzinger wasn't even supposed to be here. A late addition to AU Pro Volleyball’s 2025 roster, she came in like she owned the place.

Opening night for Team Abercrombie? She didn't just fill in. She put on a clinic. Eight kills, 2.67 kills per set, and a jaw-dropping .890 hitting percentage. All on nine attempts with zero errors. Oh, and she threw in a block for good measure.

The Creighton and Kentucky alum has already signed with the Omaha Supernovas for the 2026 Major League Volleyball season. And if this is how she starts, the league better be ready.

Fischer's Block Party

Then there's Sophie Fischer. Missing most of her first pro season with LOVB Salt Lake could have set her back. Instead, she came into the AU Pro Championship ready to dominate.

First week? MVP 1 honors. But the real show was her blocking. 24 total blocks, third-best in the league. Her crowning performance? A six-block explosion against Team Valentin-Anderson.

And just like that, Fischer finished with the highest block total of any AU rookie. 0.73 blocks per set and second in league aces? That's not just good. It's ridiculous.

The Future Looks Bright

Both Goetzinger and Fischer have already left their mark. With their college careers at Creighton and the University of Georgia, respectively, these two are no joke.

You could feel it coming. The AU Pro Championship was just their opening act. The Major League Volleyball season better watch out. These two are coming in hot.

That'll do it.
