Reverse sweeps? Yeah, LOVB Austin and LOVB Omaha did it again. Twice.
Austin's Unbelievable Comeback
Madi Skinner was on a mission. 25 kills, hitting .364. She led Austin's charge back from the brink. Down two sets to LOVB Atlanta, they flipped the script with a 21-25, 15-25, 25-22, 25-10, 16-14 victory.
Coach Chris McGown fired up the team in the third set. "Hit the ball as hard as you can and I think our team did great," he said.
And then it happened. Logan Eggleston and Asjia O'Neal stepped up. Logan's 10 kills and 12 digs were clutch. Asjia? She laid down the law. "We're not going to go out like this," she told her teammates.
Omaha's Epic Upset
Over in Omaha, Coach Suzie Fritz was calling it "nuts." Her team, seeded sixth, was down 0-2 against a strong Madison team. But they weren't done. Oh no. They stormed back to win 15-25, 24-26, 25-23, 25-23, 15-12.
"Every match was gnarly," Fritz said. Omaha was riding high on the energy of players like Danielle Cuttino, who put up 19 kills for Atlanta, trying to stop the Omaha freight train.
What Comes Next?
Now, Austin and Omaha face off for the LOVB Finals title. Sunday, 4 p.m. Eastern on ESPN2. The unexpected clash of the reverse sweep kings.
Let's be real. This isn't just a match. It's a showdown.
Get ready.
