LOVB Atlanta just wrapped up their home slate with a bang. Madi Bugg took charge and steered the ship to a four-set triumph over LOVB Austin. This win wasn't just about points. It was about heart.
Bugg's Big Night
Atlanta needed this. After a gut-wrenching reverse sweep by LOVB Houston, they came out swinging against Austin. Madi Bugg filled in as the full-time setter, and let's just say, she delivered. "It's not easy to play two games in a row, physically or mentally," Bugg said. But did they let that stop them? No chance.
Danielle Cuttino was on fire with 16 kills and three aces. The third set? Straight up dominant. Atlanta ran the show, closing it 25-15. And the fourth? Kelsey Cook smashed it home with a vicious swing to seal the deal at 27-25.
The Numbers Tell All
Atlanta hit a solid .150, while LOVB Austin couldn't crack .114. McKenzie Adams added 14 kills and 13 digs. Tia Jimerson chipped in with six blocks. Pure team effort. Madi Bugg dished out an impressive 40 assists. "She always gives good feedback and has great energy," Jimerson praised.
Austin's Logan Eggleston tried to rally with 15 kills, but Atlanta had no answer for Bugg's playmaking. Austin coach Chris McGown admitted, "We did some really good things...but I see areas where we have some work in front of us."
Standings Shake-Up
The win pushed Atlanta to a 9-2 record, three games clear at the top. Houston's loss to LOVB Madison kept them at 6-5. Madison, now on a three-game streak, is suddenly a threat after a rough patch.
And just like that, Atlanta heads into their final regular-season matches with momentum. Expect them to keep that top spot. They've got the firepower, and with Bugg running the show? They’re a problem.
That’ll do it.
