It’s official: the NCAA’s era of amateur-only athletes is over.
On June 6, 2025, a federal judge gave final approval to the House v. NCAA settlement, unlocking billions in athlete compensation and launching college sports into an uncharted future. And while the spotlight’s on football and basketball, the ripple effects are slamming into Olympic sports—especially volleyball.
Big news for U.S. volleyball fans:
Starting this summer, you won’t need a VPN to catch Team USA in action.
On June 3, 2025, a new media partnership was announced that will change the game — literally. For the first time ever, every U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Team match in the 2025 Volleyball Nations League and upcoming FIVB World Championships will be broadcast nationwide on CBS Sports and Big Ten Network.
You’ve heard the buzz. You’ve seen the clips. And now you’re wondering:
How does this new AVP League actually work?
Welcome to the next era of American beach volleyball, where city rivalries, fast matches, and championship stakes collide. Whether you’re a hardcore fan or new to the sand, here’s everything you need to know.
ou can’t teach instinct. You can’t fake grit.
And for over a decade, Erik Shoji has brought both — and more — to the heart of U.S. volleyball’s backcourt.
From a volleyball dynasty in Hawaii to three Olympic Games, multiple medals, and a global highlight reel of impossible digs, Shoji isn’t just a libero — he’s a blueprint.
And in 2025? He’s still diving, still leading, and still defining defense at the highest level.
New Rosters, New Cities, and a New Era of International Volleyball
Summer 2025 is about to hit different — and it’s not just the heat.
The Volleyball Nations League (VNL) is back and bigger than ever, with both the U.S. men’s and women’s national teams chasing gold, bringing star-studded rosters and hometown matchups into the spotlight.
From Arlington to Rio, Chiba to Chicago, the best in the world are about to collide — and Team USA is walking in ready to wreck the bracket.
Palm Beach is about to bring the heat.
From May 23–25, the AVP is hitting Florida’s east coast with the Palm Beach Open, the second big stop in the 2025 season — and this Contender Event is primed for upsets, breakouts, and beach volleyball chaos under the lights.
We’ve got energy. We’ve got atmosphere. And we’ve got a lineup full of vets vs. hungry underdogs looking to make names and ruin brackets.
And the AVP are backing up the sand trucks.
The Beach came to dominate — and that’s exactly what they did.
In a statement-making sweep at the Covelli Center in Columbus, Ohio, Long Beach State shut down defending champs UCLA to win the 2025 NCAA Men’s Volleyball Championship.
💥 Result: 3–0 sweep (25–17, 25–23, 25–21)
No extra sets. No doubt.
Just straight fire from a team that’s been locked in all season.
If you’re trying to build the future of U.S. beach volleyball, there’s one name that’s literally standing above the rest:
Andy Benesh — 6’9″, elite hands, Olympic energy, and absolutely no chill at the net.
From SoCal roots to Paris heat, Benesh isn’t just a late bloomer — he’s a modern beach volleyball blueprint. Power. Patience. Precision. And now? Podium potential.
