Hailing from Fort Mill, South Carolina, middle blocker Sophie Fischer comes to LOVB following a stellar collegiate career at the University of Georgia. Sophie capped off her final season with prestigious accolades, earning a spot on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Southeast Region Team and the 2024 All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) Teams. This marked her third career All-SEC honor. On the international stage, Sophie represented the U.S. Women’s National Team at the NORCECA Pan American Cup Final Six, where she helped secure a silver medal. Her impressive achievements at UGA include being named the 2023 SEC Player of the Year, a 2023 Second Team All-American, a three-time All-Region honoree, a three-time All-SEC selection, and a four-time SEC Player of the Week. Prior to her time at UGA, Sophie was part of the National Championship team at the University of Kentucky in 2020-2021.
